That's a good painting Ocker.
You might need to check on the rules for the Archibald. I believe that your painting has to be painted from life, not a photo.
I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck anyway. Smile

Those are the rules that are put down, but they constantly let in oddballs that go against the rules.
Like the picture of maurice iemma that was a printed photo taken with a flash and touched up slightly with paint. Shocked
Paintings of unknown children..etc etc.
It's all fun.

One of my teachers at art school used to say, "don't worry if you think that your work is garbage. Go to the Archibald and take a look at some the work there and then you might feel better about your own.

One thing is guaranteed though, you will see some unbelievably brilliant work there as well.

So true. Speaking of which, Daniel, I've seen a self portrait of yours on photobucket. I believe you've captured your personality very well. I am planning to open my gallery in June with a show called "Friends". I'd love to have that painting in the show and if you don't need it, I'd love to keep it. By the way, friends, I extend the invitation to all of you. Sorry, Mike for hyjacking your thread. Perhaps Daniel can move this somewhere else.

Hi Ocker, these portraits are going great guns. I've just had a look at all of them, and the progression of your technical skills is awesome to see. Mind you, I've got no idea how you get the time to create so much work, but it's definately paying dividends for you. Thanks for the inspiration to pull my finger out Smile
