Does anyone know why this show has moved? I went to the opening this evening and was sorely disappointed. There were considerably fewer paintings hung, the attendance seemed to be much lower (I recall I could hardly move last year) and the venue simply doesn't work.

Holding an art show in a tent without any decent lighting is inexplicable. The opening reception was at six, by seven the light was fading and you couldn't really see much. An overcast Easter would have made the entire event a disaster so let's hope the sun shines brightly. Paintings hung around corners were not done any justice at all. The opening speaker suggested more than once that artists were being done a real favour by having this venue available to show their work - an unfortunate attitude.

I was concerned to hear the organizers admit to being worried about the safety of the works when they saw how much fog (ie damp) there was in the valley all morning. If the venue isn't suitable, the venue isn't suitable!

This show has grown in size and prestige every year, but this year seems to have slipped down the ladder. Is the move to the Alowyn Gardens permanent or can we hope to be back under a roof next year? Sad

That sounds awful!
The temperature variations alone would be enough to damage some works. Condensation under glass on a watercolur would totally ruin it.
And the attitude that the show is doing the artists a favour...well, with out the artists there wouldnt be a show.
I hadnt heard of this show before... and would not enter it if it was in this location.
