This one is probably the best non artists interview... a great one for those who want to sell more ART!

http://artstuff.net.au/?p=679 It's with Steve Biller Art Agent in the USA...

Why him, why from the USA and not Aus... Simple he showed up on my radar first via networking with the linked in site and one of the Art groups on there. See networking can be Very useful.

Mind you if you know any art agents out there more localised I would gladly chat to them as well. Wink

I'm getting people emailing me saying, more americans... oh man c'mon.. we want locals... stiff you get what you get... and if the aussies don't want to then the next in line that says yes I will, gets it. as long as they are contemporary and have a site or images available through a gallery or some such then I will take a look.

Paul has a great way of explaining abstract work in fairly simple terms, I like that...

I know a few sculptors Steve, I'll chase a couple up. One is Melbourne based does a lot of community / public based work. Another is Sydney based, smaller work. Oh and I just thought of a couple of others too......just give me some time to finish up a few others things first.

And another sculptor is my husband who is going to be in a big show in a few months time (details are all hush hush right now). I'm sure he'd be happy for you to interview him, though a little down the track would be better so he can talk about the show.

Thanks for the leads... Wendy I think two you mention need websites first... I know Dragi and have met Laurie once. prefer people who have more contemporary exhibition experience. (now I am getting picky...) I tried to get "Jive I'm alright" from Cowarr, (I worked at Monash when he was there.) but he was too busy...

Steve - I have seen the work of an amazing, highly talented, creative, professional, very modest (yeah right!) painter by the name of Marie Green. Apparently she decided two years ago to become a world famous artist and I suspect she will have this wish fulfilled in the coming decade as in the manner of her previous ones cos she works hard and well.

OK - I admit, she doesnt hang toilet paper from the ceiling and give it an existential descriptive title and yes you can actually recognise things, people, atmosphere that she captures with her trusty brushes and oils on canvas.

But is that any reason to exclude her from the ranks of potential interrviewees?

Rampant advertising - throw that woman off the set!
