I got this in an email today
| Quote: |
Stevie Wonder is playing his first gig in Tokyo and the place is absolutely packed to the rafters.
In a bid to break the ice with his new audience he asks if
anyone would like him to play a request.
A little old Japanese man jumps out of his seat in the first row and shouts at the top of his voice "Play a jazz chord ! Play a jazz chord .
Amazed that this guy knows about Stevie's varied career, the blind impresario starts to play an E minor scale and then goes into a difficult jazz melody for about 10 minutes. When he finishes the whole place goes wild.
The little old man jumps up again and shouts "No, no, play a Jazz chord, play a jazz chord".
A bit pissed off by this, Stevie, being the professional that he is, dives straight into a jazz improvisation with his band around the B flat minor chord and really tears the place apart. The crowd goes wild with this impromptu show of his technical expertise.
The little old man jumps up again. "No, no. Play a jazz chord, play A jazz chord".
Well and truly pissed off that this little guy doesn't seem to appreciate his playing ability Stevie says to him from the stage
"OK smart arse. You get up here and do it !"
The little old man climbs up onto the stage, takes hold of the mike and starts to sing .
" A jazz chord to say I ruv you "

What is your local library like? Ours has an extensive CD collection and can get almost anything in. My husband is a keen borrower.
I just bought "The Lobster Quadrille" by Franz Ferdinand. I love it! |

Okise I have not read all posts, but hopefully I don't repeat what anyone else has much..
After going to a pixies concert on Monday, Try em they are great =]
Joy Division is a great band, so is blue monday by new order
I tend to be the kind to like this song from this band and that is about it so I listen to a huge number of bands, rather selectivly
So on my Ipod would be
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't fear the reaper
Blur - Song 2
Daft Punk - Discovery
Disturbed - Prayer
Doors - People are strange
Drowning Pool - Tear Away
Electric Light Orchestra - The whole 'time' album
Everclear - Wonderful
Everlast - What it's like
Fear Factory - Cars, Demanufacture
Filter and Crystal Method - Trip like I do
Friendly - My Mother Was a DJ
Iron Maiden - Aces High
The Knife - Is it Medicine
Korn - Whole 'Untouchables' Album
Linkin Park - Somewhere i belong, in the end
Nine Inch Nail - Closer
Nirvana - Come as you are, Heart shaped box
P.O.D - Youth of the Nation
Papa Roach - Last Resort
If i currently had it on my new machine, I would add
Silver Chair - whole 'Frogstomp' album
Rammstien - Angle, link 1-2-3
The Beatles
Rob Dugan - Clubbed to death
Black Sabbath - Iron Man
I recommend all of the above . . and more but then i could go on for ever, to some I probably already have ;p |

well the battery lasts for a very long time..I've never timed it.
The ipod will keep running if you don't lock it after choosing your Playlist or album to play, it will just keep on going untill it has played everything that it contains.
I think that they did have some trouble with the original ipods but mine is a fairly new ipod nano...no trouble with the battery running out too soon.

Get whatever you want to listen to. Having a favourite band or artist is kind of like having a favourite artist, depends on the mood, time of day, where you are etc etc. But the first 10 that come up on random shuffle on my ipod are as follows (artist, song, album):
Mazzy Star, Bells Ring, So tonight that I may
REM, All the right friends, In Time: The best of REM
Mike Delgado, Byrdmans revenge, Fabric 21
Massive Attack, Group four, Mezzanine
Death in Vegas, Neptune city, The Contino Sessions
The Sex Pistols, God Save the Queen, Never Mind the Bollocks
Alex Dolby, Psiko Garden (Sasha re-edit), Global Underground 26
Camille, Ta Douleur, Chillout Sessions 9
Pearl Jam, Whipping, Vitalogy
Radiohead, Sit down Stand Up, Hail to the Thief
All good soundtracks for making great art!!!! |
