Robert Hannaford is my favorite portrait painter. In my opinion the best artists from New Zealand are: Nathanael Provis Paul Cato Tim Wilson (my favourite) Technically Raphaella Spence is the best living artist not from Australia. Do others agree?

However, the highlight of the visit to the NGA was upstairs looking through the Australian stuff by Streeton, Roberts, et.al. Personally I thought that the Australian works were better.
