I am writing to tell you about the Australian Cancer Council 2010 Arts Awards program, as it is something you may want to tell your online users, artist friends or even you may be interested in.
Established as a means for people touched by cancer to communicate their experiences in a creative way, the Arts Awards is an annual event hosted by Cancer Council Victoria. and entries are open in seven categories. The categories are; Visual Art, Short Story, Poetry, Indigenous Visual Art, Film, Youth & Children's Art and Youth & Children's Writing. I have attached Entry Forms for the Indigenous Visual Art category and all other categories. More can be downloaded on our website or you can just enter online!
The Arts Awards was recently selected as the 2009 winner of the 'Visual Arts and Exhibitions Award' category of The Ability Media International Awards for its creative excellence and social relevance.
The program is an opportunity for both professional and budding artists affected by cancer to: remember loved ones lost, help others understand the cancer experience and provide a sense of hope for others touched by the disease.
In addition to cash prizes for Outstanding Entries, a diverse range of works will be displayed in a touring exhibition that begins in Melbourne and travels throughout regional Victoria.
Entries close 7th April, 2010.
