Hi there,
I'm a UK performer bringing a show to Adelaide Fringe 2010 called "A Surprisingly Tasteful Show About Nudity." It's a comedy show investigating the taboo of nudity in society, and is a follow-up to my show last year about swearing, which won an award at the Edinburgh Festival.
At the start of the show, as the audience enters the room, I am going to be sketching a life model, who will be sat there nude until the show properly begins (this should last around 5 minutes). The model will then get up and leave via the side exit.
Obviously I can't afford to fly my model from the UK over, so I'm looking for local Adelaide life models, nudists, or anyone who is comfortable with being naked on stage.
It's a small room (capacity around 40) and audience members will be strictly forbidden from using cameras or filming equipment during the show, which my technician will keep a close eye on.
I can only pay a very minimal amount I'm afraid, as it's a Fringe production and, especially coming from the UK, I've got a lot of costs to cover. But you're welcome to watch the rest of the show and bring a guest for free as well.
I know this doesn't sound like the greatest deal in the world, but I just thought I'd put it out there and see if anyone's interested.
I've already filled a couple of the nights, thanks to kind and non-bashful mates volunteering, but I'm doing 11 shows so need a few more people on board.
Any age, gender, creed and colour welcome!
The show runs from February 18th - 28th, 8.30pm (7.30pm Sundays) at the Tuxedo Cat on Synagogue Place.
Thanks,
Alexis
