Hi my names Alex. Im from the Sydney area and ive been into just pretty much drawing since I was 5. Ive also been dabbling in other sorts here and there along the road but mainly been sketching the whole time. Ive just started getting into water colour over the last couple of months now and love the effect of it.

Ive come here to check out whats happening in Australia with art to communicate with some fellow artists. I rarely get to discuss art related things with other people so this place sounds like a good spot to come to.

Hello, I'm a web designer in Melbourne who has been around the art scene a little bit and am in the midst of setting up an art website that I hope will be a major art hub in the future! *dream on*

Anyway I'm looking for emerging art writers to be involved in the project and will be very happy if someone can give me a hand! I've created a post specific to this in the Opportunities directory so do check it out if you're interested.

Hi Brad,
Great work!
Sorry to bother you but I still cannot find out how to stick an image under my nickname.
I have gone to faq and it sends me back to the forum.
Sorry to be so computer illiterate.
cheers.

hey guys,

looks like I've found a place at last. I'm a perpetual art student who has taken 8 years to do a two year diploma but hey, I've stuck at it and learnt plenty.

This forum is great, being at home in between jobs means that I'm the most interruptable person so the art takes a back seat. Might have to get a studio...

Most of my work is in oils, pastels and I draw a bit too. Mostly figurative religious work....the images and stories are a wellspring of inspiration. I also have a strange penchant for collecting words, onomatopeia, that kind of thang. Send some beauties my way and I'll add them to my collection on the 'fridge. Very Happy

Anyway 'nuff about me...I look forward to meeting some new mates in arty cyberspace. Cool

Keep the faith

Hi Brad,
I actually stumbled across your forum while surfing the net, and thought i would have a sticky beak at all the art on display.
I have had no formal training, but like to paint with oils, i find it very therapeutic.
I have had a gut full of work and im thinking of having a break so i can concentrate on my artwork, Ive never sold anything, and dont know if my art work would be good enough to bring in a small income, but if i had my way thats exactly what i would like to do! Im hoping your forum will give me a lot of useful info and constructive criticism to help me on my path to happiness. LOL
ya never know unless you try!
cheers smiley

Hi Folks, My name is Dave Murray, I live in Gladstone Qld. I am retired and have been painting for a couple of years. I started after I retired from music and was recovering from some surgery, I am mostly doing acrylic landscapes and requests from friends and their friends. I am about to try oils over acrylic on ply board, I may need help from you and your experiences. I haven't had any form of training but just enjoy the freedom of creating something that looks good. I hope to pick your brains and minds as well as maybe pass on some of my mistakes to other beginners.

Hi folks, thanks for the welcome to the forum. I am at present getting into the swing of things, and will have to learn how to put pictures onto the site.

Hi all!
Not sure how active this forum is. I used to love fine art as a student in the UK. I got carried away with my job etc though and am trying to pick it up again now that I'm out in sunny Australia! Hoping that I can get some inspiration from you all. jb x
