Entries for the Darlington Arts Festival Open Exhibition are now open and available online by visiting www.darlingtonartsfestival.org.au.
The Darlington Arts Festival is Western Australia’s longest running community event and the 2008 festival saw over 15,000 people in attendance over the two day weekend.
The Open Art Exhibition continues to be the backbone of the festival and is open to all artists – established and emerging.
It’s a fantastic way for local and regional artists to showcase and sell their work.
Cash prizes are awarded in five categories and past years have proved to be an amazing, eclectic collection and a popular spot for art lovers and novices alike.
Last year’s exhibition saw over 150 entries to the art competition, and with a minimal $15 entry fee the exhibition prides itself of being open to both professional and amateurs.
The Open Exhibition has five categories: painting, printmaking/drawing, photography/digital art, sculpture/furniture, and textiles/ceramics/jewellery – with first prize $1000 and a Highly Commended Prize of $250 in each category.
