Yes it's meant to be amazing.
There's comething like 130 odd studios owned by different organisations / countries. The University of Sydney offers residencies in the studio that they own within the complex. But you do need some funds behind you as they charge an operating cost so it's not totally free.
Having only been once (so far) I would love to go back to Paris especially in such a set up.

yes! me too. there are numerous other ways of applying too, I believe, one being directly to the Cite, with a preference for those who can at least attempt to communicate in French. so now I have a goal that's a bit tighter than 'make a living from my creative work'. now that goal reads - 'be successful in applying for a fellowship at the Cite'!!!! Laughing the Cite site gives all the info you need to apply so it gives me a focus. I was planning another trip sept 2010 via New York City and San Fran. I am a writer also, and have written a novel about Paris among other things. I have to admit, I'm a Paris tragic! Embarassed

Anyways, the University of Sydney offers residencies in the studio that they own within the complex.
