Hello everyone
I find some of my best prints from woodcut have been by accident/ failure to follow correct process. I am wondering how others are doing in the woodcut area?
Who has done a woodcut before?
What is you favorite wood type for the woodcuts you do?
What tools/ ways do you make marks on the timber?
Do you prefer water or oil based ink for printing them? |

Hi Ricardo,
I don't think I have ever tried printing from a woodcut.
I have done a fair bit of lino cut printing, I would imagine it's very similar, is that fair to say Ricardo?
I too with lino cut found that some accidents have produced some good results.
And I really did prefer oil based paints, they were great... _________________ B73

| Thanks Brad73 for the imput, not sure if a lino cut can be compaired with a woodcut as the grain in the wood seems to become part of the print. |

. I have done a little bit of woodcuts... I PRINT AT HOME...If you wish to print them at home without a press then you can buy a hand barren and use whats called rice paper (thin paper but nice easy to hand print). Its not hard I have done this at home. I used oil based at uni but use water based at home cus of the cleaning reasons
