In downloading photos or paintings from the internet I find the normal A4 printing paper and a Photo Quality Inkjet Paper (matt) reasonable, but lacking depth, perspective, and a harder image. Probably an all round 20% deterioration from an original. But we know in handprinting that certain printing papers will give induce a different and interesting quality.
My question then, has anyone tried using papers normally made for an art printing press on a home printer? I am thinking that some of the softer hand made printing papers like the ragpapers might bring interesting results? Or other softer papers?
As long as they were not too thick. There may be other technical limitations too, but my knowledge is restrictive. In anticipation of any discussion many thanks.
