Hi all,
Which ink is good to use for drypoint when you don't want to use turps due to pregnancy?
I'm using AKUA Intaglio Water-Based ink for drypoint on plastic plates but the result is not very intense and is easily wiped out of the line. Thinking of trying Heidelberg water-based relief ink, which I've read is used for etching as well. Faust Gum-Based ink could be good too but haven't tried them.
In the mean time, more time in the studio needed! |

| I think oil based inks are best. Use vegetable oil to clean up. Wear gloves and a mask. A pregnant student in our printmaking class wore a proper industrial mask. |

Baby oil works too for clean up.
The site Educational Colours (products made especially for Teachers and Students) has a block printing ink link here
http://www.edcolours.com.au/news/_news_single.asp?ID=133
I have not used it before but wanted to. I hope the link works for you as the pdf for me is not loading. I think I might have to update my Adobe reader.
Anyway have a look and talk to your local craft and art shop. |
