Hi everyone.

I just received an email from an artist in the US to say that the orphan works bill has passed. putting artists and photographers rights back 50 years +

guess we all need to think long and hard about how we can protect our work from the theift that is about to come.

guessing it wont be long before Australia follows like a little sheep and adopts this bill too. canada and the uk are so sadly we will too.

Hi Cat1,

The bill is still a ways from becoming law. It was passed by the House last week and it's on its way to the House Judiciary Committee. The Senate hasn't voted on it yet. So the battle is still going on.

Thanks for bringing this to people's attention again.

cheers,

db
