I am really frustrated that most of the acrylic demo/technique books mainly use acrylic paint like watercolour paint or techniques e.g. thin washes of building up layers.
I would like to find a book on acrylic paint that has demos on how to paint pictures using acrylic paint as thick and solid, and uses impasto medium and modelling compound. Think Van Gogh , Chagall, Boyd, Nolan, smart, Rothko, etc even though they used oils, thats the type of solid layered paintings these acrylic books that show.
Has anyone come across any good acrylic books that dont primarily use watercolour techniques? |

Sorry bout the delay. The book I have is NOT a guide on how to paint. It is however a guide on whats available in the acrylic range and how to use them. It covers everything from whats available, what its made of, how to use it, mediums, 2d, 3d even what tools you can use, etc. The book has some great ideas, it is pricey, I paid $50, you might be able to get it cheaper if you decide to get it. Its called - 'The New Acrylics. Complete guide to the new generation of acrylic paints.' by Rheni Tauchid. Watson Guptill publication. Hope that helps Chrissy |
