|
The purpose of the Art Critiques Forum is to get constructive, helpful feedback on your work.
Please include basic information including the size of the work (including the unit e.g. cm or mm), and the primary medium and surface.
Include other information that might help people to give appropriate and useful feedback such as your intent for the piece, what you're trying to communicate, problems you've encountered, and what to ignore/not comment on such as things you already know are wrong or unfinished areas.
It is the convention in this forum that works posted here may be modified digitally for the purpose of giving feedback. If you do not want digital alterations made to your work please make that clear.
Please post only one art work per thread and only one thread per 24 hour period, and be sure to thank those who have taken the time to look at your work and give you feedback even if you don't agree with it!
When giving feedback please consider your comments carefully before posting, and try to be analytical and supportive in your critique.
Focus on information such as:
* How could the piece be improved?
* What is done well?
* What needs more work?
* What could be emphasized/subdued?
* What could be elaborated upon?
* How could the composition and design be improved?
Include reasons and principles for your suggestions where appropriate.
Digital modifications to an image are often far more useful than a comment such as 'it needs a flock of pelicans in the foreground'. Often a suggested change can create more problems that it solves or is difficult to accurately communicate verbally so 'a picture is worth a thousand words'. |
