For anyone interested in visiting Arnhem Land and learning more about Aboriginal Art & Culture, a great tour company to go with is: Gecko Tours - Katherine, Northern Territory

Gecko have quite a number of different tours that suit the general public as well as landscape painters, photographers and other artists.

Gecko organises one tour in particular where you are guided by local Aboriginals into Arnhem land, you get to see Rock Art in their local ceremonial grounds; areas which totally off limits to non-aboriginals unless guided by the local aboriginal elders. The local Aboriginal community also has an art & craft gallery. It's really a great way to truely appreciate traditional aborginal art and meet the artists that create it.
