| I've done it. Very hard to sell original art although I have sold two. Perhaps others here have had more success. Prints are easier to sell but you might be better off trying to sell through a niche market outlet if your art allows. |

2 things come to mind:
I think most people using Ebay are looking for a bargain (me included) so that may determine your pricing. If you sell at the lower end of the market it affect you in the future. Art snobbery is rife.
I wouldn't buy original artwork without seeing it in the flesh.
Having said that Ebay reaches lots of people so you will get good exposure and may pick up some sales or comissions as a by product of being seen there. |

I know someone off another forum who seems to do quite well with selling his art through ebay, however he sells small works from $40ish. I think if you are happy to have such low prices you may find it successful.
I have thought about it, but too much competition with China reproduction print sellers.
I think it works for some artforms and styles while not others |

Hi, for what its worth Ive been selling my sculpture on ebay for a few years
and have had good results , but it requires constant time, energy and money, when I stop listing fresh work a few times a week I just fall backwards into the blackhole of 10 million mass produced statues.
Good luck, just remember all sorts of people use ebay and any one of them could fall in love with your work. |
