Hi there,
Have any of you tried mosiacing with pebbles? Its been something Ive wanted to try for a while and I now have the opportunity (as my boyfriend has given me free range in his garden...!) I have a patch of dull ground about 7 sq m so I have plenty of scope, Im just wondering if there are any tips on planning the design for a space that large.
cheers

I haven't personally Jen, but a friend of mine has... He made a doorstep into his house with pebbles set into it, it looked great... I should have a pic of it somewhere... _________________ B73

Hi Jen
I always draw the design up to scale and then work out how much you will do each time you work on it.
Some say to start at the centre, some say start in one corner. I find it best to start in the centre.
Are you laying a slab of concrete first?
Are you using outdoor adhesive or just cement?
It is best to clean the pebbles very well first to remove any dirt and grease. |

Hi
I would strongly recommend you get hold of the Maggy Howarth book " Complete Pebble Mosaic Handbook ". She is a UK mosaicist and IMHO someone who has brought that art to a new high. the book is full of extremely useful practical information on techniques, plus some beautiful photographs. |
