I have been very patient, waiting, waiting AND now it's all booked in
Next Thursday I'm going up and over Katherine Gorge, Kakadu & South Alligator River in a helicopter & armed with my camera.

Do they have doors on the chopper ?
If they do ask if they can take them off so you can get better photos !
Way more fun with the doors off !!  |

| Yes doors are off. It's a four seater helicopter so Andy is also coming along and will be armed with a camera too. |

Well I survived without falling out or dropping my camera or running out of memory and battery. BUT I was actually a little disapointed with the flight but I won't bore you all with that, I still managed to get a few nice one, just not as many as I'd hoped.
AND I can't seen to upload anything to photobucket, is anyone else having this problem???

Thanks Greenfrog, KimO and Dug. I think no 2 is my favourite so far but I haven't had much time to have a good look at all my shots and I'm sure with some rotating, cropping & good ol' photoshop I'll have some decent pics.
Unfortunately the chopper owner got called away and the replacement pilot - who's wife was about to have their first baby was in a huge hurry, not very helpful, missed half the places I was suppose to go to and had us back on the ground an hour early.... (and she still hasn't had the baby).
When we flew past Katherine Gorge it was on pilots side so I couldn't even take any photo's, he said don't worry you'll get lots of photo's somewhere else. |

It always seems to be the way.
Things never go exactly how we want them to.
Sometimes the anticipation is the best part.
I think photos one and two look amazing, especially with most of the sky cropped off.
As you scroll down the page the photos sky becomes cropped by the top margin of the desktop, and with most of the sky gone the second photo reminds of a Fred Williams painting..sort of.
I think you could turn that one into a semi abstract piece without too much trouble. It would be fun experimenting anyway
